Big Anniversary Elm Tree Plant Postponed…

Work Party 02122012

Unfortunately, although it was possible the walk on parts of Rawcliffe Meadows on the 2 December 2012, the sodden ground had frozen pretty solid so we have postponed the elm tree planting until the New Year when hopefully we’ll be able to put some in the copse. We have the trees with their label of parent tree and species, and thanks to the generosity of the First TransPennine Express & Forestry Commission Green Grants 2012 scheme will be able to monitor their performance once planted.

Instead of planting trees Judi, Carol, Neil, Ron, Cap, Mick and Helen took the opportunity to cut back the hedge on the entry path from the allotments and that along the New Meadow Copse.

We look forward to seeing everyone in January.
