The 22nd February 2013 saw Frances and Jacob helping on site again. This time planting numbers 11 and 12 of the twenty elm trees we are putting in as a part of the Great British Elm Experiment (numbers 1064 & 1065 on the project’s map). Their trees, one each of Field elm and Wych elm, are planted in the northern section of the copse, where they’ll be able to go back in future years and observe the trees’ development.
The trees, along with next boxes, ladder and GPS were all funded through a grant from First TransPennine Express through the Forestry Commission.
We wish Frances, Jacob and the trees all the best for the future!
