Contractors for Yorkshire Water (MMB) will shortly commence replace the old rising main between Clifton Hospital to the treatment works. The work is planned to commence from the 7th May 2013 and take twenty weeks to complete. Two pipes are replacing the existing one to assist switchover in the event of a burst.
Yorkshire Water’s notice, including contact numbers is here. The contractors have been liaising with the Environment Agency and the Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows.
Please keep away from any workings, particularly in the Cornfield, which has no public access anyway, the crop has been planned around the works and derogations from Natural England received.
