Yorkshire Water have issued a press release around their and Mott McDonald Bentley’s work in the area entitled Habitat Boost for Rawcliffe Meadows. Unfortunately, as well as misspelling our spokesperson’s surname there is an error of detail. Rawcliffe Meadows is not ” the only habitat in the north of England for the rare and beautiful Tansy Beetle”, but it is a critical habitat for the very rare tansy beetle, which is only found in the UK along a roughly 45Km stretch of the River Ouse, north and south of York, so perhaps even rarer than stated.
This correction does not deter from the fact that we are very grateful to both YW and MMB for their consultation during the work, their care with the work, their aftercare and their financial assistance to our work.
