Thanks to Judi, Sara, Helen, Ron, Gary and Carol for helping us on 5th January – some new areas are prepared for 2014 tansy beetles plus a bit of hazel coppicing in the Blue Beck Copse as part of the on-going Scrub Management Plan to meet our Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) requirements.
Subject to flooding and the weather, the next Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows work party is from 10:30 on Sunday 2nd February 2014 at the Reservoir Basin. We will be coppicing the shrubs below the allotments, again part of the HLS.
So, if you’d like to help manage one of England’s newest Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along with being the first to achieve the criteria for its invertebrates, please come and help!
