The next Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Work Party is on Sunday 23rd March 2014 from 10:30 at the Pond at the south of the site. We plan to be coppicing more trees and removing the brash to the Cricket Field Copse. The tansy plants are just coming through so we’ll have to tread carefully. The trees are being coppiced to get more light to the plants and beetles and hopefully expand the number of tansy plants in the process.
Volunteers welcome for all or part of that period. Please look out for the A board to see where we are. Wearing wellies is probably a good bet as it’s still pretty muddy at the Pond entrance.
The remaining Spring date is 6th April.
So, if you’d like to help manage one of England’s newest Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along with being the first to achieve the criteria for its invertebrates, please come and help!
