The next Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Work Party is on Sunday 15th June 2014 from 10:30 to 13:00 at the Pond at the south of the site (any queries of how to get there, let us know). It’ll be clearing invasive weeds around some of the big tansy patches by the Pond which will hopefully have been attacked with the scrub cutter in advance. We suspect it’s important for the tansy plants to be clear of any shading or competing vegetation, and in full sun to survive, although the beetles seem to wander onto nettles, cow parsley or anything nearby quite happily.
Volunteers welcome for all or part of that period. Please look for the A board. Mick can’t make it that occasion so please give Judi some support for at least part of the time. Gloves, given the nettles, are probably a good idea!
