Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Work Party Report 15th February 2015

Thanks to a last minute notice from the Environment Agency that they were cutting back the hedge between the Meadows and the Alliance Cricket Club and pushing the fence away from the Barrier Bank we had to spend an hour clearing the rush and willow that the TCV had pushed in there following their pond clearance before Christmas – luckily Paul thought to take the fence down first, making life easier.

We then carried on with coppicing the trees near the southern tansy mound by the pond, along with clearing off the old tansy plants. Thanks to Judi, Carole, Maria, Paul, Mark, Ron and Mick this was completed despite the earlier job. Volunteers were wearing the new fluorescent tabards to help  publicize the work.
