The next Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Work Party is on Sunday 12th April 2015 from 10:30 until 13:00. We’ll then be moving to a mix of weekend and evening working.
We plan to be working in the Cricket Field Copse (over the Barrier Bank from the Pond at the south of the site). The idea is to cut down a lot of the elder saplings growing there and move much of the rush and willow left over from the Pond clearance to the back of the Copse. We may also be able to look by the Pond and see if there are any of last year’s Tansy Beetles surfacing above ground and if any weeding can be done. However, this may change depending on whether the Environment Agency agree to fund tansy planting to the east of the Pond, within the new extension, in which case we will be doing that.
Volunteers are welcome for all or part of that period. Wellies advisable.
