As those who have traversed the pages of this web site will know our ecologist, Martin Hammond, has made an extensive study of the York Ings and published both a small booklet (see bottom of this page) and a larger expansion of it. He’s also compiling more history that we are hoping to eventually make publicly available either as a book or ebook. Some is available on the website here.
Martin has offered to do a walking tour of the history of the northern Ings Of the River Ouse sometime before the hay is cut, when they can be seen at their best.
Would anyone be interested? We may have to make a nominal charge for his time doing it – will you pay? It would probably be in June.
