Report on Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows Work Party 24th March 2019

Back down to the Pond on a sunny and dry, if blustery, day to rake up the flood debris off the funnel above the Pond to prevent weeds developing if it had been left, along with clearing lumps of wood that would reduce the hay crop quality.

Despite us being a little down in numbers with just the five of us (Fiona, Pete, Judi, Mick and later Mark T) we cleared the area and then checked inside the Pond compound and along the tansy enclosure along the Ings Dyke. There were still only a couple of Tansy Beetles visible but there was quite a lot of frogspawn where it shouldn’t be, so this was relocated too.

The Cowslips are starting to appear along the Barrier Bank so Spring is definitely with us.

Next session is at 10:30 on the Sunday 14th April – task and location yet to be decided.
