The Meadows are situated along the York-Beningbrough cycle track (NCN route 65) between  Clifton Ings and the York outer ring-road and can be approached either from the Shipton Road (A19) access and then south, or by following the cycle track from the city centre going north. The general direction is behind the former Clifton Hospital.

The City of York Council have published a leaflet, number three of a series, describing a riverside cycle ride from Clifton Bridge to Skelton Nursery and back via Clifton Ings and Rawcliffe Meadows, which is available in hard copy from their offices and libraries or may be downloaded as a pdf.

A blog post has been published about the many ways to reach Rawcliffe Meadows.
